Local Phone Answering Service

Saturday, September 29th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Seth_Miller]Seth Miller Efficient functioning of the business firm depends heavily on an effective communication flow between the firm and the consumer. Manufacturing a product and making it available on the market is only a part of the company job. It is equally important, or perhaps more important, to make it known to the consumer that the product is available in the market. A local phone answering service can play a pivotal role in this regard. In a competitive market, where several firms are striving to win over consumers, it is not enough if the availability of a product is made known to the consumers. It is also essential to propagate the distinctive features of the product, and the process does not end here. Its the job of the local phone answering service to get feedback on how consumers accept its products and interpret its messages. This multidimensional function can be carried out through an effective, continuous two-way flow of information between the firm and the consumer. According traditional views held by business firms, the promotional mix of personal selling, advertising, sales promotion and publicity is the only instrument available for communicating with the consumer. The advent of technology gave rise to local phone answering services that have done wonder for business firms, saving them money — as compared to advertising and publicity that require hefty budgets to implement. Local phone answering services can be defined as the phenomenon of presenting a set of messages to a target market through multiple cues and media, with the intention of creating a favorable response from the market towards the companys total product offering. In addition, local phone answering service provides much needed market feedback for improving and modifying the companys total product offering. This feedback is very essential for the proper functioning of the firm. By Samantha Sebring A Bachelors degree by definition is an academic degree conferred by a college or university upon those who complete the undergraduate curriculum. A Bachelor’s Degree is the conventional degree given by undergraduate colleges and universities in the United States. A Bachelor’s Degree can be earned in four years of full-time college course work. Colorful Summer Gardens

Wednesday, September 26th, 2007

By Tim Birch In mid-summer the perennial border is at its peak with a wide variety of sun-loving flowers in bloom. There are even some long lasting, early blooming flowers still providing color as well as some signs of the later blooming perennials. Choose flowers for the mid-season garden which work well with your favorite annuals. Annuals are at their peak during the mid-summer months. Fully leafed out shrubs can serve as a wonderful back drop to the garden and the yet to bloom perennials act as great filler giving the garden as lush look. Perennial and annuals are the focus of the mid-season garden. With a few exceptions most of the flowering tree and shrubs have finished blooming by the middle of summer. Autumn foliage is still a few months away. Flower gardens are in full bloom, however. Lingering until mid-season are some of the spring bloomer and toward the end of this period, the late season bloomers begin to show some signs of flowering. Where as the early border consists of those flowers which are suitable for the shade and the woodland garden, the mid-season border revolves around the more sun loving varieties of flowers. They’re also, in general, taller than the spring perennials. Many of the these perennials have been cultivated from the wildflower prairies of the mid-west. Daisies are a classic summer flower. They produce abundant flowers in a variety of colors and sizes. After flowering, deadhead the stems to encourage a flush of new growth. Hollyhock and delphinium are old fashioned, tall growing colorful perennials for the full-sun garden. They’re both suitable for the cottage garden. Daylily, another classic mid-season bloomer, offers an abundance of short lived flowers. Lady’s Mantle, a great edging perennial with yellow flowers, and geranium, a low growing flower are ideal for the front of a perennial garden. Blooming along with the perennials and annuals are hydrangeas, one the most versatile shrubs available to the gardener. In fact, they are indispensable in the garden for summer color and foliage texture. No garden is complete without them. Hydrangeas prefer part shade, rich organic soil and afternoon shade after some morning sun. If they get shade in the morning and sun in the afternoon they may look stressed due to the sudden rise in temperature. Hydrangeas need lots of water especially young plants since they tend to dry out quickly during the hot weather. After planting be sure to mulch well. Fertilize the shrubs in the spring and then again in late summer. Lacecap hydrangeas are identified by its ring of flowers surrounding a center of florets and nikko blue hydrangeas by their large pom-pom like flowers. Oak leaf hydrangea has a much different appearance than the other hydrangeas as its leaves resembles that of the oak. Its white blooms fade to pink in fall. Climbing hydrangeas are a white blooming, deciduous vine which clings to garden structures, walls and fences with aerial roots. Hydrangeas are treasured for their long lasting, summer blooming flowers. Whether among a shrub border, climbing a wall or planted on its own as an accent shrub, hydrangeas are a beautiful addition to any garden. Since there are so many summer blooming flowers to chose from, plan your garden in advance, before you plant. Though you’ll probably find a plant you haven’t thought of, you’ll be glad you have a prepared list when you get to the greenhouse. Tim Birch is the publisher of http://www.gardenlistings.com . Crystal Power

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

By Marie Seymour Since ancient times people have known that crystals have the power to heal, attract and protect. They were believed to be sacred gifts from Mother Earth and came to be valued throughout the ages as objects of great power and beauty. Nowadays they are easily available, enabling anyone to change their life for the better. There are so many ways to use crystals in your life. You can use them for divination, protection and love, or simply wear them as a piece of jewellery. And if you have a problem, crystals can guide you towards the correct course of action. With so much information widely obtainable, you can easily find the right crystal for you and start programming it to attract what you really want into your life. Unsure of which crystal to use? The truth is the right one will select you. This is because crystals transmit energy levels and will resonate with your deepest feeling as soon as you first pick one up. As you hold it in your hand you will immediately feel an immense energy. If it feels right then this is the one for you. You must simply trust in your intuition. When you are sure you have the crystal for your purpose it will need to be cleansed and purified. Since crystals absorb energy from their surroundings this is important as you do not want someone elses energy imprinted onto your crystal. The best way to do this is by immersing it in a non-metallic container filled with water and dissolved sea salt. You can also cleanse your crystal by holding it under a running tap. However, with some crystals, contact with water is best avoided and care must also be taken not to scratch any polished crystals. Check with where you purchased your crystal to be sure. When it is cleansed, leave it to dry naturally, preferably in the sun. But again, make sure that this is OK because some crystals are sensitive to sunlight and may crack. You will then need to programme your crystal. It is essential that you are calm and won’t be disturbed. First, hold it in your hand and state that it will only be used for the highest good. Sit quietly as you focus on your desire. Visualize it clearly. Try to create an image using all your senses. By feeling, hearing, tasting, touching and smelling an imaginary experience, it has all the more chance to manifest itself in the real world. When you feel that the programming is complete (again, trust your intuition) put down the crystal. Then, depending on its purpose, you can then wear it, carry it in your pocket, put it under your pillow or by your bed at night. Remember - it is important to keep a positive mind in all creative visualization work; you are programming your crystal to change your life positively. You do not want it to attract any negativity. Just remain focused and believe. If you do get a negative thought, quickly replace it with a positive one. Soon you will see amazing results! Here are some crystals to get you started: Amber: For bringing wisdom, balance and patience as well as helping draw disease from the body. It also helps heal the nervous system and promote self-healing. Amethyst: For enhancing psychic abilities and spiritual awareness. Helps to clear auras and negative energy, stimulate throat chakra and heal obsessive behaviour. Aquamarine: For reducing stress, sharpening intellect and reducing fear. Good for clearing blocked communication by cleansing the throat chakra. Blue agate: For easing phobias and panic attacks. Clear Quartz: For psychic awareness and eliminating irrational fear. Good for healing and communication. Before going to sleep, try holding it in your hand and thinking about any problems you have. Then place the quartz under your pillow while you sleep. You may dream of a solution. Rose Quartz: For attracting love and healing the heart, opening the heart chakra, and promoting self-love. Sapphire: To bring serenity and tranquillity , aiding spiritual growth. Also relieves tension. Tigers Eye: For helping you achieve goals, bring clarity, creativity and balance yin and yang energy. It also inspires the imagination and enhances psychic abilities. Turquoise: For clearing away negative energy. It also encourages affinity with others and eases arthritis and rheumatism. Reiki: Japanese Technique that Provides Spiritual Healing

Tuesday, September 25th, 2007

By Hector Milla Jake worked as a financial consultant for one of the top 10 stock brokers in the country. This meant waking up early every morning and coming home late at night just to analyze a report before giving a good advice. The work was very challenging and this executive will only get 3 to 4 hours of sleep every night. Since the body needs rest, a friend advised Jake to take a class on stress reduction and relaxation known as Reiki. Reiki is an old Japanese technique that provides spiritual healing. It is done by sitting on ones hands and making the person believe that there is this life force which is very similar to Chi in Chinese culture that flows throughout the body. Many believe that if this energy is low, there is a strong chance one will fall ill while those who are high will always be healthy and happy. The word Reiki comes from two words. The first part Rei means Gods wisdom while Ki means energy. When these two are combined, it stands for a spiritual guide of life force energy. Reiki is not that hard to learn because it is been proven to be a simple and safe method that will give the person spiritual healing and self improvement. This usually begins when the master offers this to a student. The process how this is bestowed is known as attunement. Some people who have passed through attunement have claimed to feel a sudden change happening inside. This is because the process does not only affect the mind but the entire body. When this passed on to a student, Reiki will remain as a part of the persons life. This help the individual have an increased amount of physical energy, clarity of mind to solve personal problems, increased psychic activity and a raised level of consciousness. The process of attunement may be done once but people who want to feel it again can go back similar to how a person will need to undergo a refresher course to remember this gift that has been passed down. There are 4 levels in Reiki and each step the person takes is another one which can make turn the student into a master. Here are the usual practices that have to be done before undergoing another attunement. 1. The individual must not eat fish, fowl or fish for the next three days. The person must also not consumer anything but water or juice before the ceremony. 2. The person must spend a lot of time in meditation or in peaceful walks instead of staying at home and watching television. During this time, the student must release all the negative tensions such as anger, hate, jealousy or worry to prepare oneself to let the positive energy in. Anyone can learn Reiki. This technique may be spiritual in nature but is not a religion as some might perceive. The person is not required to believe in any dogma but may use the teachings to be closer to the religion that one believes in. Those who want to learn will just have to sign up for a class which usually happens over the weekend. Once this is passed on by the master, the person can get up and also pass this to others since everyone may benefit from the techniques of Reiki. Cell Phone Contracts Ins and Outs

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Ian_Major]Ian Major Cell Phone Contracts In General A cell phone contract is an agreement between the buyer and the wireless service provider. Usually it is of 1 or 2 years of duration, during which a consumer is legally bound to remain with the wireless service provider. A pre-paid contract does not need a contract term but then discounts are also not offered. Cell phone contracts specify the service plan that the consumer has opted in for. The Top Names In Cell Phone Contracts Cingular and T-Mobile plans let the subscriber roam the world with the same phone for a fee. National plans give the facility of roaming within the nation, from state to state without any extra charges. Some carriers also include Canada in their coverage areas besides the local area. Regional plans are valid only for tri-state areas and they give more talk time and save money. How to Simplify Billing for Your Household Family plans allow splitting minutes between two or more lines thereby becoming a popular plan in households, where cell phones are replacing landlines. Cell Phone Trials And Discounts Carriers generally give a trial period before enforcing the contract term. Almost all carriers give at least 14 days whereas Cingular gives 30 days of trial period. A 1-year cell phone contract has a shorter commitment period, which may prove to be beneficial if the phone needs repairs, or is lost. In addition, since the period is short, one may avail of new discounts that come up with their new contract. After the term of 1-year ends, the phone can be kept without any contract and no penalty is charged for not renewing. However, in a 1-year contract, the activation fee and/or the phone may not be cheap. Certain discounts and promotional offers cannot be availed of as in a 2-year period. Watch For Activation Fees In Cell Phone Contracts In a 2-year cell phone contract, the activation fee and/or the phone may not be expensive. Huge discounts on the phone may be availed. Special promotions may be availed. However, the phone is kept for a longer duration and hence, more money may be spent on repairing, insuring, or replacing. The opportunity to buy a new phone reduces, and thus may not be eligible to switch carriers. It is always advisable to read the fine print on the contract form. Expensive phones may also opt for phone replacement insurance plans; however, due to the costs of such plans, few subscribe to these plans. Pre Paid Gets Rid Of Cell Phone Contracts Pre-Paid or No Contract phones are not available with all cell phone companies. They are attractive as they require no commitment, you can get them even if you have bad credit, and there is no penalty whatsoever for switching companies or stopping the use of your cell phone. However, call charges may be more expensive, and no promotional discounts etc., may be availed of. Penalties Included In Cell Phone Contracts After the trial period of 14 or 30 days is over, when the phone is bought, the penalty for breaking the contract can range from $150 to $600, depending on where the phone was bought. Before the contract finishes, if a new phone is to be bought, then some companies give a customer loyalty discount, which in effect extends the contract. This may prove to be expensive when compared to buying a new phone with a good discount. Cell phones generally last for 19 months and phone batteries for a year. Ian D. Digital Kids Byte Into Being Entrepreneurs

Sunday, September 23rd, 2007

By Karen Safran Todays youth is inundated with technology. From Xboxes, TiVos, iPods and cell phones, Generation Z will be the most connected generation of Digital Kids to ever to walk the planet. After watching his twelve-year old son surf the net, text message friends, and immerse himself in technology, sales consultant and business owner Peter Hanson from the Philadelphia area had an idea. Why not harness his twelve year olds thirst for technology and redirect it towards a skill that would help him compete in the 21st century? Although his company was doing well, his website didnt adequately portray his firm. If his son Kyle learned how to build websites, he could then hire him to redesign and update his companys site. Luckily, while surfing the web, his wife had come across a technology camp where they could send their son Kyle to learn these new skills. So while most young boys are busy playing sports during the summer, Kyle attended iD Tech Camps and learned how to make websites pivot, jump and bounce with Flash Animation. iD Tech Camps provides weeklong, beginner to advanced, hands-on summer technology courses for ages 7-17 at prestigious universities in 19 states. These 40 locations include Stanford, Princeton, UCLA, Columbia, Northwestern, Vassar, and Emory. During the week, students take courses in web design, digital video production, 2D and 3D video game creation, and programming & robotics. With small class sizes averaging only six students per instructor, students are given the attention they need to excel. Students use industry products from tech leaders like Adobe, Macromedia, Apple, Canon, RadioShack, Wacom and AutoDesk. Besides a week of fun, these Digital Kids leave with a completed project using products which professionals use, increased tech-confidence, and a competitive edge. I was really proud that I created a really cool website within one week that made my instructors jaw drop when he watched my Flash Animation morph from different shapes into a logo, said Kyle. With the Flash Animation Shape Tween tool, Kyle made his animation come alive. He used different colored shapes that finally morphed into his Kyle Henson Productions logo. At first it was hard, but my instructor showed me how to morph objects. I think making animations for my site was not only super fun, but really rewarding knowing that I was using the same software that professional web designers use. Todays challenge for parents is helping their kids learn technology that they themselves do not use or understand. They depend on school to achieve this goal, but unfortunately schools today still lag in integrating technology into the curriculum. Thomas K. Glennan and Arthur Melmed address this critical issue in their article Fostering the Use of Educational Technology: Elements of a National Strategy. The nation’s most important educational goal must be to produce learners adequately prepared for life and work in the 21st century. In 1994, U.S. schools spent about $3 billion on computer- and network-based technology. Despite all this activity, however, examples of school-wide use of technology are comparatively rare and isolated. iD Tech Camps addresses this pressing need and uses tech savvy role models for instructors. As role models, these college students and recent grads make learning fun and share first-hand how technology is making a positive impact. Our philosophy is to be mentors for these Digital Kids. They are like sponges, and love to soak up this knowledge, said Jennifer Liss, Camp Director at the iD Tech Camps where Kyle attended. These kids cant get enough so its incredibly inspiring for us to teach them what weve learned in college and our professions. The end result is a sense of empowerment, independence and self-confidence as students learn to articulate their creativity through new ways by using technology. Often times they incorporate what theyve learned in their school projects or even start side businesses. While Kyle is using his newly learned website design skills to help his dad improve his companys website, across the country in San Francisco ten-year-old Julian is transforming his passion for video games into a profitable business. Julians mom, Ellen Finnegan, also heard of iD Tech Camps and immediately enrolled her bright son in a Video Game Creation course. Her hope was to inspire Julian in technology through his passionvideo games. But Ellen never expected how far hed go. After creating his video game at camp, using the easy-to-use Multimedia Fusion, Julian didnt stop there. When he returned home, he would finish his homework quickly, and then would spend time adding more details to his game. He then began selling his game to peers. The demand was so large that this young entrepreneur expanded his sales team by hiring his eight year old sister and her friend. It worked. Now Julian is working on his third sequel due to the pent up demand. With these Digital Kids, the sky is the limit. With both Kyle and Julian already enrolled in more courses on Programming & Robotics, Web Design, and Digital Video, who knows what these whiz kids will create next. And what does Julian want to do in the future? Own several video game companies, said this confident fourth grader. If Im rich, Ill own three. If not, Ill own one. Written by Karen Thurm Safran. Website Development - Offshore vs. US-Based

Saturday, September 22nd, 2007

By Adrian Singer Outsourcing software development to India, Pakistan and Ukraine has become more and more popular over the last few years, with more US businesses looking offshore to save costs on software and website development. A client recently asked me “If I can pay 5 times less in India and get the website done within the same time, why should I bother dealing with US companies?” Puzzeled for a minute, I promised to think about it and come up with the pros and cons of “shoring” vs. working with a local company. Here are the top two I came up with - Benefits of offshore website development: * Cost - often five times less * Time to market - Time zone differences combined with the longer hours invested by offshore companies, means you usually get the finished product sooner Objections to Outsourcing offshore: * Cultural differences and communication challenges, often lead to hidden costs, frustration and an uncertain completion date. * Lack of privacy & security. Source code developed for your company is likely to be embedded into other projects. (Read about government data leak) — If you feel the pros of offshoring outweigh the cons, make sure you use a “middle-man” in the form of an online market place. It’s a great way to mitigate the risk. These online market places help ensuring you are buying from a legitimate provider, by listing past performance, feedback and earning’s history as well as serving as an escrow holding payment until you are fully satisfied with the work. Building a Bridge

Wednesday, September 19th, 2007

By Jillian Middleton I blogged a quick note on October 20th Why Are You Working With Them? and Zanna, one of my readers, asked a great question. In my original blog post I suggested youre wasting your time if you continue to work with people who say theyre going to.(and fill in the blank) but never actually pull it together to get started. The point is they never get started. We are not talking about what they agreed to do. I suggested to bless um and move on. Zanna ask about a technique to do that. She also asked how to avoid getting caught in the cycle again when the person actually goes away but only for awhile. They return with the same promises but no action therefore starting the cycle again. Heres a great way to move past people who take your time (and their own) but dont follow through. I call it building a bridge. The best way to get clear what this accomplishes is to consider what a bridge does. It allows us to move back and forth over something that otherwise would be difficult to maneuver. And thats just exactly what were going to do. Were going to give these people a way to come back to work (the key word there work). But the bridge will also allow us to disconnect so we can free ourselves up so we can work our business efficiently by working with those who want to build a business and are willing to take the action to do so. Lets look at the steps it takes to build this bridge. - Compliment them with something that you like or admire about the way they do business or a trait they bring to the table that you think will be good for their business. (e.g. they are a good listener). - Then tell them you get that this is probably not the best time for them to build their business, because its tough for them to take action right now. - But when theyre ready to take action youll be right here ready to work with them. This lets people off the hook and gives them a way to leave feeling good. (That is why you make sure you compliment them first. No one needs to go away feeling bad.) If they do come back your job is to let them decide what they think is the first thing they need to do in order to move their business forward. Why does letting them decide make a difference? Youre not telling them what to do. They are deciding what they need to do to move their business forward. Why is this important? What is the first thing a two year old says when you tell them to do something? We all know the answer to this even if we dont have kids, NO. Does it get better as they get older? How many teenagers do you know that respond well to being told what to do. Ask yourself, do you like being told what to do? Certainly I dont. Thats why I own a business. Rather than telling people what to do, coach your people into the most efficient ways to run their business. This way youll know what they are about and what they are willing to do and they are much more likely to follow through. What is a great technique for coaching? Asking questions until the person sees herself clear to her first step. One of the first things Id suggest you do is coach your new recruit to get store hours in place. If it were me Id do it immediately after theyd filled out their application and paid their money. Yes I mean immediately. Before we parted and made an appointment to meet again. Then from the beginning their business has a clear time to operate. What is the usual outcome of coaching someone to make their own decisions as to how they are going to move their business forward? Typically theyll take action on what they said they were going to do. Why? Because its their idea and that holds a lot more weight than your idea. The other thing that comes out of this is youre off the hook to remind and push. Its their idea what they are going to do and their time line. What Id do after she decided what her first steps are Id ask her to look at her calendar (now she has her store hours) and make a time to get the task completed. Then make an appointment for them to call you to check in and debrief about how it all went. Make sure they understand this is a real appointment. You are blocking time to talk in your calendar and expect them to be there. This is step five of the 5-Steps To Work Less and Make Money in Network Marketing that are covered in the first two ezine issues. (When you draw boundaries and make things clear keep it in mind that honey often takes you much further than vinegar.) If they call and didnt do what they said they were going to do. Build another bridge and let them go again. If they dont call at the appointed time let them go. Send a build a bridge email. It might go something like; Sorry you missed our call. You know (name) you do blah blah really well and when youre ready to build your business Im here to help. Short and sweet but real and final. If you apply these techniques it should help you to move on from the professional Im gonnas and keep your business going in the right direction. 2006 Jillian Middleton All rights reserved. Easy Guide To Sustainable Weight Loss

Monday, September 17th, 2007

By Gail Dennis Weight loss is not impossible, (except in those rare cases where medical reasons are issues -sans obesity) it does not mean deprivation, or a difficult, boring or repetitious diet. Diet is the consumption of food and drinks. Elimination of any or all of a specific food group may lead to a reduction of weight, however, re-introduction of previously “banned” foods may also lead to additional weight gain. So what is the solution to permanent weight loss? Certain diets that concentrate on eliminating carbohydrates and increasing the intake of protein can lead to weight loss. Over time, no carbohydrate diets can lead to negative secondary effects - excess iron levels in the blood, kidney problems, and constipation. Low carbohydrate diets promote rapid weight loss by promoting undesirably high concentration of ketone bodies. (Ketone bodies - Acetocetate, Acetone and B-hydroxybutyrate- are formed when fatty acids are used to obtain energy). To lose weight a calorie deficit must be created, or calorie intake must be lower than calorie output. 1) Be aware of the calories in what you eat and drink.
